Central bank survey: more Chinese invest in equity markets
A record 30 percent of respondents said investment in stocks and funds are more profitable than depositing money in banks, 11.7 percentage points higher than that for the last quarter of 2006, according to the central bank's survey of 20,000 people in 50 cities.

ADB: China's economy growth to moderate but stay high

CMB sets up first overseas branch
CMB has signed at least three technical co-operation deals with foreign lenders in terms of training and retailing banking business. Established in 1987, CMB has become the nation's sixth-largest lender with more than 400 outlets in 30 Chinese cities. The bank is known for its online banking and credit card services.
